Sustainability Analytics Manager

About the role

This is a new and exciting role in Avieco’s rapidly growing Analytics Team. Our mission is to support our clients to improve the way they manage their sustainability data; through better processing, smarter analytics and looking for insight that can drive real change. The Analytics Team works with all areas of the business from carbon footprint reporting to supply chain sustainability impact assessments. 

We are looking for a bright, ambitious person with a passion for data to join our team to manage the delivery of data projects. The right candidate will love translating and communicating sustainability data. 

The key objectives are:  

  • Presenting our findings to clients – meeting regularly with our clients to discuss the results of the data analysis from the team. This will be through the mediums of dynamic dashboards, PowerPoint presentations, or workshops. 
  • Provide first class customer service – working with our clients to understand their needs and expectations. You will need to ensure that we deliver against these client expectations and ensure the team are aligned against these to guarantee success. 
  • Manage data driven sustainability projects – you will need to be able to manage multiple data projects with varying deadlines. Each project will have different objectives, different timelines, and will need to be tightly monitored. 
  • Drive collaboration – our team will need to work collaboratively with all parts of Avieco, you will need to be able to encourage communication and teamwork with all areas of the business. 
  • Support the development of our analytics capabilities – the requirements for new ways to interpret sustainability data is increasing. You will need to explore different techniques and analyses, independently and as part of a team, to strengthen our value to clients. 
  • Support the retention and growth of our accounts – as Avieco continues to grow, we need more managers to support the retention of our clients and increase our services with them. It will be a key responsibility to ensure retention of our key reporting clients as well as identifying and developing new commercial opportunities. 
  • Be a leader in our continuous improvement and training programme – we must continually improve to ensure the team is as efficient as possible. You will need to help drive our automation efforts and ensure that the team is trained in a consistent manner. 

Essential skills 

  • Numerate, analytical and a problem solver – at ease with qualitative and quantitative analysis and adept at working through problems 
  • Project management – experience of managing and delivering projects on time, on budget and to a high standard 
  • A great communicator – with impact at all levels, in writing, verbally and in presentations 
  • Personal organisation – gets going quickly, executes tasks independently through great time management and prioritisation on a day to day basis 
  • High work standards – with strong attention to detail 
  • Flexible team player – adaptive and collaborative 
  • Proficient in Office applications – Extremely proficient with Microsoft Excel with experience of manipulating large data sets. 
  • Stakeholder engagement – experience of developing and facilitating workshops and/or communication events. Comfortable working with, and influencing, external stakeholders 

 Desirable skills 

  • Sustainability experience – sustainability experience in a consultancy or equivalent in-house role, familiarity with reporting standards, as well as CSR metrics and analysis (e.g. carbon footprint) 
  • Commercial experience – experience of developing and managing client relationships with a commercial outlook 
  • Alteryx experience – experience of using Alteryx for complex data manipulation
