About the role
We need new, experienced, sustainability consultants to join the team.
We are looking for bright, ambitious people to deliver our projects and deepen our service offering whilst supporting the management and development of the current team. There is a huge potential to grow and shape the role as you get your feet under the table.
The key objectives are:
- Collaborate directly with clients – engage with clients to understand their sustainability challenges, work with their different internal departments to collect data and quantify those challenges, and present back key findings
- Make sense of the data – analyse environmental data to help clients understand their current performance and material impact areas across key sustainability areas, such as carbon, water and waste
- Solutions, roadmaps, plans, research – deliver tangible deliverables for clients that help them solve, plan and undertake tangible steps on their sustainability journey
- Share your insights – develop your expertise and experience, tell the world what you think through marketing materials, articles and case studies
- Manage and develop client accounts – maintain our existing client relationships and grow new ones
- Manage and develop our fantastic team – support the day-to-day management of the team which will include reviewing work, managing work plans, reviews and training.
Essential skills
- Project management – able to organise and run projects with multiple resources, to time and budget
- Commercial mindset – likes to spot opportunities to develop our proposition
- Numerate, analytical and a problem solver – at ease with qualitative and quantitative analysis and adept at working through problems
- A great communicator – with impact at all levels, in writing, verbally and in presentations
- Personal organisation – gets going quickly, executes tasks independently through great time management and prioritisation on a day to day basis
- High work standards – with strong attention to detail
- Flexible team player – adaptive and collaborative
- Proficient in Office applications – including Word, Teams, Excel and PowerPoint
- Personal passion for Sustainability – passionate about sustainability, our work and the difference we are trying to make
Desirable skills
- Sustainability experience – sustainability experience in a consultancy or equivalent in-house role
- Team management – experience of managing and supporting team members
- Stakeholder engagement – experience of developing and facilitating workshops and/or communication events. Comfortable working with, and influencing, external stakeholders
Qualifications
- 3+ years professional experience in a corporate context in a client-facing role or post-graduate experience on sustainability projects
- Strong track record of business development and client delivery, ideally in the sustainability field but other industries considered
- Diverse knowledge of different sustainability challenges and opportunities of relevance to businesses
- Proven technical expertise in previous work experience – sustainability consulting, engineering, science or finance (a minimum 2.1 honours degree in a relevant subject is preferable). We are open to applications from those looking to change careers with industry experience that can be transferred to Sustainability Consulting.
- Track record of successful team and project management experience
- You must be eligible to work in the UK. Please state your visa status or mention your eligible passport on your application (even if British Citizen.)
