Chief Executive Officer

In 2006 I took a life changing decision; leaving behind a career in industry, I founded Avieco (then Carbon Smart) with a mission to help UK and international businesses be smart about sustainability. Do the things that make a difference to the world and for themselves – business and sustainability can be a great mix. Why did I do it? Quite simply, as a father of two, it was time to play my part in ensuring they could look forward to a sustainable future. Thirteen years later, the awesome team at Avieco is doing just that with hundreds of great UK and global businesses.

Having moved to the world of sustainability after the birth of my first daughter, I founded Carbon Smart in 2007 to build a great team of consultants set on helping businesses take on the challenge of sustainability in the 21st century.

As sustainability has become a wide-ranging and challenging arena for all businesses I led our transition to Avieco – reflecting a braver, broader, more determined team that owns the challenge of transforming businesses into truly sustainable organisations.

I have been working in sustainability and business efficiency for over 20 years. I’ve worked with many public and private organisations, leading wide-ranging programmes to achieve performance improvements, behavioural changes and sustainable results.

I oversee major client engagements, supporting senior managers in global organisations as they develop business focused strategies to address sustainability challenges and align their efforts with the growing expectations of the global community.

Some of my recent clients include Google, H&M, ASOS, several UK Government departments, Rathbone Brothers, Lloyd’s of London, Christies, BUNZL and Dentsu Aegis Network.

I am a graduate from the University of Birmingham, a member of the University of Cambridge Sustainability Leaders’ Network and an alumnus of Accenture and Oliver Wyman.
